Design plays an important part in a book's success. Whether electronic or print, a book is judged by readers not only on content but also presentation. Is the cover attractive? It should draw attention, catch the eye, and scream, "Buy me now!!" What about the book's interior? Is the text too small, too crowded, too hard to read? Or does it flow nicely on the page, keeping you reading?

I've been self-publishing since 2002, and it's now easier than ever to publish your own book. But many authors don't know how to create their own cover art or lay out their book files. Many need marketing advice, or assistance with setting up a website. These services can be expensive, in many cases cost-prohibitive.

I started Written Ink Designs with the goal of making such services accessible and affordable to authors. Here you'll find samples of my work as well as detailed explanations of what you can expect from me for each service I provide. I can assist independent or self-published authors with all aspects of publication, providing:

• Interior file design of your story for print publication or e-book creation
• Multiple e-book formats for you at much less than what many companies charge
• Postcards, bookmarks, flyers, banners, and similar marketing tools to increase exposure
• Website creation or assistance with installing PHP-based tools such as Wordpress or Zen Cart
• Journals and T-shirts of interest to writers and readers alike
