BOOK SERVICES

Laying out a book can be taxing for a writer who would rather be working on his or her next story. While many self-publishing platforms will lay out your book for you, some of the prices of such services can be cost-prohibitive.

I offer reasonably priced book layout services for the independent author or small press. Samples of my standard layout are available below, but I can work with you to tweak the interior layout to fit your own personal specifications:

NOTE: Layout samples are in PDF only. The story contains a graphic sex scene, so be warned. The format your finished book will be sent to you in depends upon which service you purchase. For more information, please refer to the layout you wish to purchase (below).

Print books can be formatted for any print-on-demand or self-publishing service you wish to use. I can create the book file for any finished size. If your book is a unique or unusual size, you will need to provide the interior margins you wish to use.

I do not provide editing, book doctoring, or proofreading services. The manuscript file you send to me will be converted without regard for content, grammar, spelling, or other minor errors that may appear in the text.

PRICING

Partial payment is expected when the manuscript is received. A PDF proof file will be sent to you showing the layout design and allowing you one final read-through to catch any issues or problems that may have arisen during the conversion process. I will make any final errata changes you want, then send an invoice for the balance owed. When the final payment is received, your book files will be sent to you to distribute as you see fit.

• Standard E-Book Layout: $50
• E-books will be created in EPUB, HTML, MOBI, PDF, and PRC formats.
• 6" x 9" in size.
• Contains a cover page, copyright page including a dedication, and your manuscript formatted in Arial 12 point font. Text will be left-aligned, with scene breaks justified.
• Acknowledgements, notes, and author pages will be added as necessary to the end of the book.
• After an initial consultation, the manuscript will be forwarded to me and partial payment made via PayPal.
• The final layout will be sent to the author in PDF to proof. Author will receive instructions on how to review the galley and relay errata changes that need to be made.
• Upon return of the errata form, corrections will be made to the file and the final e-book files will be created.
• Payment is expected via PayPal when errata is returned. E-books will be generated and the author will receive the original Word document (DOC) as well as the above 5 e-book formats within 24 hours of receipt of payment.


• Standard Book Layout: $50
• Book will be formatted into your choice of layout size. The most common are 5¼" x 8" or 6" x 9".
• The price is the same regardless of content (one novel costs the same as a book of short stories).
• Contains a half-title page, title page, copyright page, and your manuscript formatted in Garamond 11 point font. Text will be justified. Scene breaks can be multiple spaces or your choice of special character/symbol.
• Dedication, acknowledgements, notes, and author pages can be added as necessary.
• After an initial consultation, the manuscript will be forwarded to me and partial payment made via PayPal.
• The final layout will be sent to the author in PDF to proof. Author will receive instructions on how to review the galley and relay errata changes that need to be made.
• Upon return of the errata form, corrections will be made to the file and the final book file will be created.
• Payment is expected via PayPal when errata is returned. The author will receive the original Word document (DOC) as well as a print-ready PDF file within 24 hours of receipt of payment.


• Standard Smashwords Layout: $25
• E-books will be created in Word DOC format.
• 6" x 9" in size.
• Contains a cover page, copyright page including a dedication, and your manuscript formatted in Arial 12 point font. Text will be left-aligned, with scene breaks justified.
• Acknowledgements, notes, and author pages will be added as necessary to the end of the book.
• File will be generated with Smashwords' formatting in mind to ensure no delay in getting approved for their Premium Catalog.
• After an initial consultation, the manuscript will be forwarded to me and partial payment made via PayPal.
• The final layout will be sent to the author in PDF to proof. Author will receive instructions on how to review the galley and relay errata changes that need to be made.
• Upon return of the errata form, corrections will be made to the file and the final e-book files will be created.
• Payment is expected via PayPal when errata is returned. The author will receive the original Word document (DOC) ready for uploading to Smashwords within 24 hours of receipt of payment.

Your manuscript will NOT be shared with anyone at any time. All book files will be generated on my own personal computer, to which no one else has access. The finished files will be sent to you via e-mail.
